Bone Grafting is a relatively minor procedure that uses bone material or plasma (PRGF) to grow your own bone graft to replace missing bone in the jaw. This is usually done if necessary before placing an Implant.
What to expect?
The dentist will numb the area, make a small incision and then place the new bone material in the area. Your bone creates new bone cells around the grafted material, building up the bone right where you need it.
Plasma Rich in Growth Factor (PRGF)
– your blood is taken and spun, where the plasma is separated along with the growth factors this is then processed and cultured to make a bone graft material, which is used as a natural way to repair damaged tissues. The advantage of this is that it is 100% compatible with you as it is your own tissue.
